The TELERAD(link is external) network is an automatic radioactivity telemetry network on Belgian territory. It is made up of 254 stations (as of 12/31/2020), the number of stations varies slightly from year to year depending on the improvements and modernizations made to the network. These stations continuously measure the radioactivity of the air and river water.
Monitorings
The data for the various radiation graphs are obtained using two Geiger counters connected to a server: the GM45 from Black Cat Systems and the GMC-600 Plus from GQ Electronics.
Air quality measurement data is obtained using the SMOGGIE-PM from uRADMonitor.
Calibrations
The GM45 probe was recalibrated in July 2022 according to Gamma-Scout. It is tested at a state-approved institute. Each unit is supplied with a certificate stating its serial number. Radiation Monitoring was commissioned on November 1, 2011.
SMOGGIE-PM features a high-quality laser particle sensor for PM1, PM2.5, and PM10 and an additional sensor for temperature and humidity. The accuracy of this monitor's data is laboratory tested.
