Understanding the "Last 24 Hours" chart
An average dose rate of 0.13 µSv / h corresponds to an average level of exposure to natural radioactivity of 1.14 mSv / year. (1 mSv = 1000 µSv).
This corresponds to the natural radioactive background radiation for the Carlsbourg station and for certain regions of Belgium.
The data for this graph is obtained using a geiger counter connected to a PC. The conter is manufactured by Black Cat Systems, Model GM45.
Radiation Monitor commissioned 1 Nov 2011.
The GM45 probe was recalibrated July 2016 according to the Gamma-Scout. This is tested in an authorized institute by the state. Each unit is supplied with a certificate stating its serial number.
