EURDEP - EUROPEAN RADIOACTIVITY DATA EXCHANGE PLATFORM.
Map overview
The map makes available the data on levels of radioactivity in some environmental media in the European Union Member states from year 1984 onwards.
When opening the query, the first page shows the map displaying all the available stations, represented as orange dots, plus a few text labels for countries and cities (those can be shown well-spaced so as not to overlap), like in the following picture:
Copernicus
Copernicus is an EU programme aimed at developing European information services based on satellite Earth Observation and in situ (non space) data. Copernicus is a user driven programme and the information services provided will be freely and openly accessible to its Users, mostly public authorities.
Monitorings
The data for the various radiation graphs are obtained using two Geiger counters connected to a server: the GM45 from Black Cat Systems and the GMC-600 + from GQ Electronics.
Air quality measurement data is obtained using the SMOGGIE-PM from uRADMonitor.
Calibrations
The GM45 probe was recalibrated in July 2022 according to Gamma-Scout. It is tested at a state-approved institute. Each unit is supplied with a certificate stating its serial number. Radiation Monitoring was commissioned on November 1, 2011.
SMOGGIE-PM features a high-quality laser particle sensor for PM1, PM2.5, and PM10 and an additional sensor for temperature and humidity. The accuracy of this monitor's data is laboratory tested.
